This 2014 Glendale Coin Club Medal was minted by Daniel Carr in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Glendale (CA) Coin Club. The obverse design features the grizzly bear design from the 1925 California Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Half Dollar in actual size, with the name of the coin club surrounding. The reverse design features a 55/55 in the style of the 1955 Doubled Die Obverse Lincoln Cent, surrounded by the club name and the dual 1959-2014 date. Examples were struck in copper, silver and gold. Only 300 copper medals were minted, most of which will be retained by club members, making the piece quite rare. The medal is 39mm in diameter and is struck on a pure copper round with a smooth edge. The medal comes in a high quality plastic capsule to protect the near perfect condition of the piece. A beautifully done medal and an opportunity to own a low mintage copper club medal by Daniel Carr which is not available on the Moonlight Mint website. |
