1972 Canada Voyageur Dollar PCGS PR67 "DOILY" |

|
Here is a nice 1972 Canada Voyageur Silver Dollar graded PR67 by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. When you are lucky enough to find a PCGS Doily style holder, it most often contains a Morgan Silver Dollar or a Mercury Dime. Other type coins are much much more difficult to find in these holders and finding a World coin in a Doily holder is almost unheard of. In the census of known examples of Doily label PCGS holders only three (3) examples holding non-U.S. coins are known to exist, this coin offered here is only the fourth World coin known in a Doily label holder! Not only that, but this coin has wonderful eye appeal and nice original toning. The two-piece Doily holder is in about as good of condition as they come with no significant cracks or damage to the fragile outer stacking ring. Please note I used a diffused lighting technique to better capture the overall look of the toning of the coin in the close up images. Please also note that the coin appears to have a golden color in those images because of that technique, but the coin is more of a bright white color on the obverse and the colors on the reverse are a bit more bold and vibrant when viewed in hand. |
