It has been the tradition for several centuries for the United Kingdom's monarch to distribute Maundy Money each year to selected elderly. This Great Britain Maundy 4 Pence has been graded PCGS MS66. The coin is very colorful and has amazing deep toning on both sides that is very attractive. The coin also has prooflike surfaces and strong luster, each of which helps to amplify the eye appeal of the colorfully toned surfaces. The devices of the coin, particularly on the obverse, are somewhat frosty as well giving the coin a moderate cameo look. There are no major marks or other issues of note. Undoubtedly, one of the most attractive high-grade Maundy coins I have handled. |
