This beautifully toned 1936 Canada Silver Dollar has been graded AU58 by PCGS and is housed in an old green label holder which is approximately twenty years old. The coin has very strong cartwheel luster on both sides and is nearly completely covered with colorful toning. Graded AU58, the graders back then felt this coin had just a touch of wear, but I can only see a touch of friction on the high point of the center of the reverse that would not look out of place in my opinion on a coin grading higher. In any event, the coin certainly looks like a much higher graded example when viewed in hand. There are a few light marks on the high points of the design, but they do not stand out and are well-hidden by the colorful toning. Overall, this is a very eye appealing example of this one-year only type coin. |
