1958 Franklin Half PCGS MS65 "DOILY" |
SOLD |
 |
Here is a 1958 Franklin Half Dollar which has been graded MS65 by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. The coin is lightly toned with what appears to be original Mint set toning which is typical of half dollars of this date. The toning covers the entire coin, yet is light enough to let plenty of original mint luster pop through. The color is mostly a brown-grey color, but some more vibrant colors show up just at the rim. The coin has only a few light marks scattered about and appears to be nice for the assigned grade. The two-piece Doily holder is in excellent condition with an outer stacking ring free of cracks and fully intact. A very nice gem Franklin Half Dollar in the ultra-rare Doily holder! |
