1818 Bust Quarter PCGS MS63 |
$7600 |
 |
This 1818 Bust Quarter Dollar has been graded MS63 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. The coin is well struck and very attractive. Both sides of the coin exhibit strong clashing and die cracking which adds to the overall character of the piece. The coin is moderately toned in a mostly golden color which deepens with the presence of other colors near the rims. Nice original mint luster is also present and is only slightly muted by the moderate toning. Just a small hit on Liberty’s cheek seems to limit the grade of the coin to MS63 as the coin is otherwise free of noticeable issues. I would guess that without that single hit in the focal area of Liberty’s cheek, the coin may have graded a point or two higher. An eye appealing mint state example of the type. |
