Here is an amazing 1872 Proof Seated Liberty Quarter which has been graded PR67CAM by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The coin was also professionally imaged by PCGS for their CoinFacts service. With a mintage of only 950 coins, this coin is scarce in any condition, but it is a special opportunity to be able to handle one of the very best surviving examples of that low mintage. This coin is one of only three (3) examples which have graded PR67CAM at PCGS with no examples grading higher. Accordingly, this example offered here is certainly among the very best surviving examples of the 1872 Proof Seated Quarter. Both sides of the coin exhibit deep mirrored fields with some light die polishing lines present. The devices on both sides are also quite frosty giving the coin a strong cameo appearance. Just a slight amount of haze in the left obverse field is of note; otherwise, the coin is about as close to a perfect example as you are likely to find. A beautiful top pop Proof Seated Quarter. |
