1880-S Morgan Dollar PCGS MS62 "DOILY" |
SOLD |
 |
Here is an 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar which has been graded MS62 by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. The coin is bright white and has very strong cartwheel luster. The surfaces of the coin are heavily marked up as you would expect to see on a dollar graded MS62, particularly on the obverse. That said, the strong luster and the slightly proof-like fields give the coin an overall decent look. The two-piece Doily holder is in very good condition with only a couple of small inclusions in the plastic that do not affect the integrity of the outer stacking ring which is not broken and remains intact. A pretty nice looking Morgan Silver Dollar in the ultra-rare Doily holder! |
