1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Official Medal HK-346 PCGS MS64RB SOLD
1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Official Medal HK-346 PCGS MS64RB
The 300th anniversary of the 1607 settlement of Jamestown was commemorated by the Jamestown Exposition World’s Fair held in Norfolk, Virginia. The United States Mint struck official medals of the exposition at their exhibit on the fairgrounds. This example of the 1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Official Medal was struck in brass and is listed as HK-346 in the Hibler-Kappen reference on So-Called Dollars. This 1907 HK-346 medal has been graded MS64RB by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. This is a popular medal which features the bust of Pocahontas on the obverse and sailing ships on the reverse. There are no major hits or marks of note and just a couple small areas of discoloration on the piece probably have prevented a higher grade. A great overall example of the official medal of the Jamestown Tercentennial.
