1896 Morgan Dollar PCGS MS62 "DOILY" |
SOLD |
 |
Here is an 1896 Morgan Silver Dollar which has been graded MS62 by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. The coin is bright white and has very strong cartwheel luster. The surfaces of the coin are not as marked up as the average MS62 coin, but there are a few significant marks which likely account for the MS62 grade. A few larger marks on Liberty’s cheek and a few deeper hits on the eagle’s breast on the reverse are of note. The two-piece Doily holder is in very good condition with no cracks or damage present. A decent looking Morgan Silver Dollar in the ultra-rare Doily holder! |
