1883-CC Morgan Dollar PCGS MS63 "DOILY" |
SOLD |
 |
Here is an 1883-CC Morgan Silver Dollar which has been graded MS63 by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. The Carson City Silver Dollar is bright white and has excellent cartwheel luster. The fields of the coin are also slightly prooflike, but not quite reflective enough to earn the designation from PCGS. There are several hits and small marks on the coin, particularly on the obverse, but it appears to be a strong example for the MS63 grade. The two-piece Doily holder is in very good condition with only a couple of small inclusions in the plastic that do not affect the integrity of the outer stacking ring which is not broken and remains intact. Pretty cool to have a Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar in the ultra-rare Doily holder! |
