This example of the 1851-D $2.5 Liberty Gold Quarter Eagle has been graded XF40 by NGC. For the grade this is an amazing example with a bright gold color and quite a bit of original mint luster. Not only is there excellent luster, but the strike and details remaining on this piece are much more than you would typically expect on a Dahlonega Mint coin in this grade. Of course there is some circulation wear and some light marks scattered about. An overall excellent example of a circulated gold quarter eagle from the Dahlonega Mint. |
