1913-D Lincoln Cent PCGS MS64RD OGH DOILY |

 |
This is a 1913-D Lincoln Cent which has been graded MS64RD by PCGS and is housed in one of the very rare Doily label PCGS holders. This version of the PCGS old green label holder was only used for a couple of weeks during late-1989 before it was quickly phased out. Accordingly, it has been reported that only a few hundred coins in this style of holder are known to exist today and they are highly sought after by collectors. When you are lucky enough to find a PCGS Doily style holder, it most often contains a Morgan Silver Dollar or a Mercury Dime. Other type coins are much much more difficult to find in these holders. In the census of known examples of Doily label PCGS holders only four (4) other examples of the Lincoln Wheat Cent have been reported to exist in a Doily label holder and this is the only 1913-D example reported. The coin itself is a bright red color and has great original mint luster. There are just a couple of tiny carbon flecks of note when viewed under magnification and traces of a faint fingerprint on the reverse. That said, the eye appeal is strong on this well-struck better-date early Lincoln Cent and it appears to be better overall than many others I have seen in the same grade. The two-piece Doily holder is in excellent condition and is fully intact. A wonderful opportunity to obtain a bright-red better-date Lincoln Wheat Cent in the old PCGS Doily label holder. |
