Mintage of the 1909 Lincoln Cent commenced only a couple of weeks following the initial release of the 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln Cent as a result of the negative reaction to the designer’s initials featured on the reverse. The 1909 Lincoln Cent is still in high demand with collectors as a first year of issue in a very popular series. This 1909 Lincoln Cent has been graded MS66RB by ANACS and is encapsulated in the older small white ANACS holder from many years ago. The coin has roughly half of the original mint red color remaining and the luster is still strong on both sides. No major hits or marks of note are present. Overall, this is a nice high-grade example of the first year Lincoln Cent in the popular old small white holder.
