1909 VDB Lincoln Cent ANACS MS66RB |
SOLD |
 |
The 1909 VDB Lincoln Cent was the first Lincoln Cent issued in the series which has now lasted over 100 years. The 1909 VDB is also a one-year type coin as it was the only year the designer's initials were located on the reverse of the coin. After only a couple of weeks of production, Brenner's initials were removed from the reverse of the coin, creating this highly popular variety. This example of the 1909 VDB offered here has been graded MS66RB by ANACS. The coin is a very nice coin for the grade and has bright straw gold-red color with amazing original mint luster. A couple of minor spots are found on this coin but are not overly distracting as the luster of the piece dominates. The coin appears to be free of any major hits or marks. An overall excellent example of the 1909 VDB Lincoln Cent in a very high grade, particularly for the red-brown designation. |
