This undated William H. Harrison Presidential Residence Medal has been graded MS64DPL by NGC and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The medal is cataloged as DeWitt-WHH-F as indicated on the label. In or about 1861, George H. Lovett produced a series of medals featuring the residences of all of the United States Presidents to that time. In researching this series, it appears that medals of the earlier presidents like Washington, Adams and Jefferson were much more popular and had higher mintages than the later presidents like William H. Harrison. A well detailed piece with deeply mirrored fields and frosty cameo devices. There are some light hairlines in the fields and some slight haziness which seemingly prevents a higher numerical grade. A high end example of this entry in the Lovett Presidential Residence series. |
