E.P. Furlong Saint Patrick M-NY-276 NGC MS64 SOLD
E.P. Furlong Saint Patrick M-NY-276 NGC MS64
This undated E.P. Furlong Saint Patrick’s Salve merchant token has been graded MS64 by NGC and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. The token has been attributed as M-NY-276 as indicated on the NGC label. Although undated, it is likely that this token was made in or about the 1850s. The piece features a wonderful image of Saint Patrick driving out the snakes. The token has wonderful golden color and excellent cartwheel mint luster. A few light marks are found under a close inspection and a very interesting die crack is found at the lower obverse. This issue is quite scarce, particularly in higher grades. This is the only example which has graded MS64 at NGC with a single piece that grades higher. A beautiful and eye appealing merchant token.
