2009 British Indian Ocean Territory Life of the Turtle NGC PF69UC		SOLD

Here is a 2009 British Indian Ocean Territory Silver Two Pounds Life of the Turtle coin which has been graded PF69 Ultra Cameo by NGC. With a mintage of only 5000, this relatively scarce coin is very interesting with its two part composition. The outer ring of sterling silver shows several images of turtles at various stages of life from eggs up through full adulthood. The inner portion of the coin is a piece of blue crystal which has another turtle etched into the surface. The coin was struck by the Pobjoy Mint and was originally sold at an issue price of $129. To date, this is the only example of this issue graded PF69UC by NGC with no examples grading higher. A very interesting top pop graded coin for the collector of interesting coins or for the fan of turtles!
