Here is a 1978 Norway Silver King Olav V 50 Kroner which has been graded MS66* by NGC and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. Norway issued this
high relief silver commemorative coin to celebrate the 75th birthday of King Olav V. This issue is not particularly rare, but the example here is certainly a special piece with amazing rainbow color on both sides. The color really pops on the textured high relief design and the piece has strong luster which further adds to the overall eye appeal. This piece is clearly worthy of the star designation given by NGC for coins with exceptional eye appeal. An amazing example of the type.
Because of the difficulty in capturing the overall look of the coin in a single image, I have also included a short high-definition video of the coin towards the bottom of this listing in an attempt to give you a better idea of what this coin will look like in hand. Please note that you may need to adjust the video quality to 1080p and may need to increase the size of the video to full screen in order to see the coin in maximum detail. |
