1950-S Booker T. Washington Half NGC MS66
The Booker T. Washington Memorial Half Dollar was the first United States coin to bear the likeness of an African-American and was also the first United States coin to be designed by an African-American, Isaac Scott Hathaway. This 1950-S Booker T. Washington Commemorative Half Dollar has been graded MS66 by NGC. The coin quite lustrous on both sides and is mostly untoned. There are some marks on the obverse side preventing the piece from receiving a higher grade, but the overall eye appeal is still strong. A nice high grade example of the Booker T. Washington half dollar.
