| This 1948 Jefferson Nickel has been graded MS66FS by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The FS designation has been given as the coin exhibits fully struck steps of Monticello on the reverse which is evident of a strongly struck example. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. Only twenty-seven (27) examples of this date have earned the MS66FS grade at PCGS, with just two (2) examples grading higher, both just slightly higher at MS66+FS. The coin is untoned and very well struck. Just a few light marks are noticed under a close inspection. |
