1925 Norse Medal Thick PCGS MS65 |

|
Although it is technically not part of the classic commemorative series, many collectors of classic commemoratives collect the 1925 Norse American Centennial Medal and include it with their collections. At the time the Norse Medal was contemplated, there was an attempt to seek
production of an actual coin (most likely a half dollar) for their centennial celebration. However, getting Congress to approve the issuance of the piece as a medal and not a coin proved
to be much easier. The medals are also hugely popular amongst
collectors because of their eye-catching octagonal design. This example of the 1925 Norse Medal has been graded MS65 by PCGS and has been struck on a thick silver planchet. It is a bright white example free of toning with lots of original luster. A few scattered tiny marks can be found and a small light scratch near the right obverse edge is of note. An overall nice gem example of the Norse Medal. |
