1917 Type One Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS MS64FH |

The Type One Standing Liberty Quarter is a very popular type coin that was only minted during 1916 and part of 1917. In 1917, the design of the new quarter was slightly modified to cover Liberty's exposed breast and to raise up the eagle on the reverse by rearranging the stars. This example of the 1917 Type One Standing Liberty Quarter has been graded MS64FH by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The FH designation has been given to this coin as the coin exhibits a full head on Liberty which is evident of a strongly struck example. The coin is lightly toned on both sides with excellent Mint cartwheel luster. A few patches of deeper toning, particularly on the reverse show hints of vibrant color and attest to the originality of the piece. Just a few light hits and light marks can be found with a close inspection. A wonderfully struck mint state example of the type. |
