The 1915 Panama-Pacific Commemorative Half Dollar was the first commemorative to have the “IN GOD WE TRUST” motto. The coin was also the first commemorative which was struck at one of the branch mints, meaning any of the U.S. Mint facilities outside of main Philadelphia Mint. This is an interesting example of the 1915-S Panama-Pacific Commemorative Half Dollar which has been certified by PCGS as genuine and having Poor/Fair Details. The PCGS label indicates the coin did not receive a numerical grade because of damage caused by the removal of a mount. There are some very light scratches near part of the rim, but given the wear on this coin the damage is relatively minor. The piece is heavily worn to the point where much of the design of the coin is gone. A TrueView photo of the coin was taken by PCGS. Overall, this is a neat example of the popular Panama-Pacific Half Dollar with heavy wear. |
