1967 Bahamas New Zealand 2 Cent Mule PCGS MS64RD 30th Ann. Label |

This is a really neat error coin called a mule. Although the coin is actually undated, it was minted in 1967 when the obverse die of the Bahamas 5 cent piece was erroneously paired with the reverse die of the New Zealand 2 cent piece. This is a highly collectible variety as it's a coin from two different countries in one. This 1967 Bahamas/New Zealand Mule has been graded MS64RD by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. This coin also has the limited edition PCGS 30th anniversary retro green label which is a throwback to the old green label holders used by PCGS many years ago. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. This coin has strong mint luster and a bright red color on both sides. The planchet shows some streakiness, particularly on the obverse, which provides an interesting look. A couple of light marks and a small spot on the reverse are of note and likely the reasons a higher grade was not assigned. A fantastic bright red example of this popular mule coin. |
