This 1952 Proof Washington Quarter has been graded PR67 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The coin has nice mirrors and is free of toning. Just a hint of cameo contrast is also present on this piece, but well short of what is required for a designation of such from the grading service. There are no major marks, hits or issues of note, as you might expect on a coin of this grade. This coin is the FS-901 variety which is more commonly known as the “Superbird” variety as there is what appears to be a small letter S in the center of the eagle’s breast on the reverse, reminiscent of Superman. The variety has been properly attributed on the holder by PCGS. A superb example of this popular proof Washington Quarter variety. |
