This 1907-F Proof Germany Wurttemberg 2 Mark has been graded PR65+CAM by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. The coin type is referenced in the Krause World Coin Guide as KM #631 and the coin is also referenced as J-174 as indicated on the label. Proof examples of this type are scarce. In fact, this is the only example of the proof 1907-F 2 Mark which has been certified by PCGS to date. The coin has flashy mirrored fields and frosty devices that show strong cameo contrast. Under good lighting, the coin comes to life with attractive blue, purple and orange toning which shows well in the TrueView photo. The coin has slightly hazy fields, a few light hairlines and a couple of minor spots, but none of the issues are major, but seemingly the combination of those issues limited the numerical grade to 65+. Overall, this is a wonderful gem plus example of the Wurttemberg 2 Mark proof. |
