This 1916-D Mercury Dime has been graded VG10 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. As the lowest-mintage dime of the entire Mercury Dime series, the coin has always been a popular key-date amongst collectors, and is sought after in all grades. Because of its popularity, the 1916-D Mercury Dime is one of the most counterfeited coins in the market, so purchasing a certified piece like the one offered here is especially important. The coin is a nice light grey color that is slightly darker on the reverse, perhaps from being stored in an album at one point. A couple of obverse scratches in the portrait of Liberty likely kept the coin from grading a grade higher. Lots of detail present on this popular key-date Mercury Dime. |
