1917 Type One Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS AU58 |

The Type One Standing Liberty Quarter is a very popular type coin that was only minted during 1916 and part of 1917. In 1917, the design of the new quarter was slightly modified to cover Liberty's exposed breast and to raise up the eagle on the reverse by rearranging the stars. This example of the 1917 Type One Standing Liberty Quarter has been graded AU58 by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The coin shows just the slightest touch of wear on the high points of the design, but otherwise is a terrific example for the grade. The coin has nice luster with a light golden color that deepens to a grey color with hints of lilac toward the rim. A wonderful barely circulated example of the type. |
