Here is a 1970 Costa Rica 25 Colones which as been graded PR63DCAM by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of their large sized holders. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. This large 60mm diameter silver coin was issued to commemorate 25 years of social legislation. The coin is made of .999 fine silver and has an actual silver weight of 1.7312 ounces. Only 6,800 of these coins were struck and it is likely that a good portion of that original mintage was melted down when silver prices peaked in 1979-1980. This example has a few light scratches in the open fields and some light toning near the rims which is best seen in the PCGS TrueView photo. A neat large silver coin with a relatively low mintage.
