Here is a 1976-D Kennedy Half Dollar with the Bicentennial Reverse which has been graded MS65 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. This dual-dated 1776-1976 half dollar with the special bicentennial reverse of Independence Hall is a fairly common coin, even in gem condition. However, the eye appeal of this particular example is exceptional. The coin has amazingly beautiful purple and golden toning on both sides which is not totally captured by the photos. There are a few light hits on Kennedy’s cheek which limit the technical grade of the coin and keep it from grading higher, but in terms of overall eye appeal, this bicentennial half dollar would be difficult to beat. |
