This 1991-Mo Mexico Type 1 Silver Onza has been graded MS67 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The rainbow toning on the obverse completely covers the coin and is spectacular. It would be hard to find a Mexican Onza with more attractive toning than the coin here. My photos do a decent job of showing the color, but it is just so much better in hand as the strong luster of the coin shines through the vibrant colors. A couple of small hits can be found on the obverse under a very close inspection, but they are very difficult to notice as the nearly perfect toning draws the eye. The reverse of the coin is untoned, but has a great strike and strong luster as well. The grade of the coin is also relatively high for the issue, with only four (4) PCGS examples grading higher at MS68. Certainly the most beautiful Mexican Silver Onza I have owned. |
