Here is an 1887-B British India Silver Rupee which has been graded MS62 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. This coin has the Type C bust, Type I reverse, an incuse and inverted mintmark and is cataloged as KM# 492 in the Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins. The coin has decent mint luster and slightly prooflike fields. Mostly bright white in appearance with just a faint touch of toning, particularly on the reverse, the coin has decent overall eye appeal. Some light wispy hairlines in the open fields and some scattered light contact mark probably limited the numerical grade of the coin. A very pretty overall rupee for the grade. |
