Here is an amazing 1872 Proof Seated Liberty Half Dollar which has been graded PF65CAM by NGC and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. With a mintage of only 950 coins, this coin is scarce in any condition, but is likely one of the better surviving examples from that original mintage. The coin is very well preserved and quite eye appealing. The mirrors are slightly hazy, but are still relatively deep with devices that contrast with bright frostiness. There are some minor marks noticeable in the fields under magnification, but nothing significant. The piece also exhibits orange, red and blue rim toning that encircles both sides of the coin. A wonderful gem example of the Proof Seated Liberty Half Dollar.
Because of the difficulty in capturing the overall look of the coin in a single image, I have also included a short high-definition video of the coin towards the bottom of this listing in an attempt to give you a better idea of what this coin will look like in hand. Please note that you may need to adjust the video quality to 1080p and may need to increase the size of the video to full screen in order to see the coin in maximum detail. |
