1888 Mauritius 5 Cent PCGS MS63BN |

Just about all 19th Century coinage from the island of Mauritius are difficult to find in mint state condition. This 1888 Mauritius
Five Cent piece has been graded MS63BN by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The obverse is a wonderful medium-dark chocolate brown color, with virtually no distractions except for one tiny spot between the EE of QUEEN. There are also a few light hits and very faint hairlines on the cheek of Victoria. The reverse is brighter and most lustrous red-brown color. Again, a few light marks and some very faint hairlines in the fields are the only issues of note. An overall very pleasing example of the Mauritius
Five Cent piece. |
