This 1927-F Germany Weimar Republic 3 Reichsmark Proof Commemorative, which commemorates the 450th Anniversary of Tubingen University, has been graded PR61CAM by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The coin has very flashy mirrored fields which have been marked up with many light hairlines and a few light hazy spots, accounting for the relatively low numerical grade of the coin. The portrait on the obverse and eagle on the reverse each exhibit lots of cameo frost as the CAM designation suggests. Despite the relatively low grade, the piece does have decent eye appeal, particularly the reverse as the frosty eagle really pops off the mirrored surfaces. Overall, a decent example of the proof commemorative issue offered at a fraction of the catalog values. |
