1947-S Philippines MacArthur Set PCGS MS66+/PCGS MS66		SOLD

This is a very beautiful MacArthur set issued by the Philippines. The 1947-S MacArthur 50 Centavos and Peso were silver coins minted at the San Francisco Mint for the Philippines who wished to honor General Douglas MacArthur following World War II. Both coins are very high grade and exhibit beautiful luster and original colorful toning. The 50 Centavos has been graded MS66+ by PCGS and at that grade it ties one other coin as the highest graded example graded by PCGS with no examples grading higher. The Peso has been graded MS66 by PCGS and at that grade it ties seven other coins at that grade with only two coins grading higher, a single MS66+ and a single MS67+. The two coins are encapsulated in a PCGS Dual-Coin Holder which makes for a wonderful presentation of these beautiful coins. Given the extremely high grades of the coins and the attractive toning, this is a set that would be tough to match and is certainly worthy of inclusion in the finest of collections.
