This is a beautiful example of the 1918 Illinois Commemorative Half Dollar which is referred to as the Lincoln Commemorative by some. This 1918 Illinois/Lincoln Commemorative Half Dollar has been graded MS66 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The coin has strong original mint luster on both sides as you would expect from a coin grading MS66. The obverse is mostly white with some streaky dirty looking toning scattered about. The reverse toning of the coin is spectacular with a complete rainbow of color found around the rims which highlights the great design of the piece. The photos do not fully capture the color which is bright and vibrant all around, even in the areas which appear dark in the photo. There are no major hits or marks to be found on the coin. A beautiful example of this popular commemorative half dollar that is hard to find with nice color.
