2007 South Georgia & Sandwich Islands March of the Penguins PCGS PR69DC |

Here is a 2007 South Georgia and South Sandwich Island Silver Two Pounds Penguins of the Antarctic coin which has been graded PR69DCAM by PCGS. With a mintage of only 5000, this relatively scarce coin is very interesting with its two part composition. The outer ring of sterling silver shows many penguins in various stages of life, referred to as the “March of the Penguins” on the PCGS label; others have named the coin the Lifecycle of the Penguin. The inner portion of the coin is a piece of clear crystal which has another penguin etched into the surface. The coin was struck by the Pobjoy Mint and was sold at an issue price of $129. To date, this is the only example of this issue graded PR69DCAM by PCGS with no examples grading higher. A very interesting top pop graded coin for the collector of interesting coins or for the fan of penguins! |
