Here is the 1933 Colorado Century of Progress Type III Silver Dollar which is listed as HK-869 in the Hibler-Kappen book on So-Called Dollars and has been certified with UNC Details by NGC and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The piece does have a light cleaning on both sides as the label suggests, but is not as bad as the photos make it seem. Unfortunately, my photos of this piece came out quite a bit darker than the coin is in hand. A decent example of this scarce so-called dollar with a mintage of only 2,000 pieces and an unknown number of those which have been melted over the years. |
