The Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half Dollar commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord which kicked off the American Revolution. This example of the 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half Dollar has been graded MS64 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for the assigned grade. Included with the coin is one of the original small wooden boxes in which the commemorative was originally issued in 1925. The coin is mostly bright white and quite lustrous for the issue with just a thin, faint layer of toning across the surfaces which acts as confirmation of the coin’s original surfaces. A few light hits are present in the fields, but they do not distract from the overall appeal of the coin and are appropriate for the assigned grade . The wooden box that is included with this coin is in fair condition with slightly faded stamps of the commemorative design on each side. The box also has the name “Betty” and the date “1925” written in pencil on the top of the lid. Please note that the PCGS holder has several small scuffs in the plastic which impair portions of the close up photos and inadvertently make the coin appear blurry or weak. A terrific Lexington-Concord commemorative half with an original wooden box. |
