1967 Bahamas New Zealand 2 Cent Mule NGC MS65RB |

This is a really neat error coin called a mule. Although the coin is actually undated, it was minted in 1967 when the obverse die of the Bahamas 5 cent piece was erroneously paired with the reverse die of the New Zealand 2 cent piece. This is a highly collectible variety as it's a coin from two different countries in one. Not only is this a really neat error coin, but it is a very high grade example. This example of the 1967 Bahamas/New Zealand 2 Cent Mule has been graded MS65RB by NGC and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The coin is wonderfully toned with a subtle blue-green color which floats atop the lovely red-brown surfaces, giving the coin extraordinary overall eye appeal. The original mint luster of the coin is also very strong. Only a small hit on the cheek of the Queen likely prevents a higher grade. That said, no examples have been graded higher at NGC to date. A very high-end and beautiful example for this popular variety. |
