The Texas Independence Centennial half dollars have one of the most crowded designs of any commemorative half dollar. Because of the crowded design, hardly any open fields remain making the grading of these coins very difficult. That said, this is a superb example of the type with wonderful eye appeal. This 1935-D Texas Commemorative Half Dollar has been graded MS67+ by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for the assigned grade. Currently, there are seven (7) examples of the 1935-D Texas Half which have been graded higher by PCGS, all of which are MS68 examples that would cost approximately $10,000 each. This bright white coin has blazing mint luster and is untoned on both sides. The fields on the eagle side of the coin exhibit moderately proof-like fields that significantly add to the overall eye appeal of the piece. There are virtually no marks or other issues of note, even under a close inspection. An amazing and flashy high grade example of the Texas Commemorative Half Dollar. |
