This 1930-S/S Buffalo Nickel has been graded MS66 by PCGS. The coin is also attributed on the label as being an RPM variety as it has a strong repunched S/S mintmark. Although it is difficult to see in my photos, there is an underlying S mintmark just to the west and what appears to be another underlying S mintmark just to the south of the overmintmark. In researching this coin, I found there are several known RPM varieties of this date. While I am not certain as to which specific RPM variety this coin is, regardless of which RPM variety this coin is, it is likely to be the finest known example at the MS66 grade. Moreover, even if the RPM variety is of little interest to you, this coin is a wonderful bright and lustrous untoned example of the date. |
