The Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half Dollar commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord which kicked off the American Revolution. This example of the 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half Dollar has been graded MS66+ by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. This is an amazing looking Lexington half. The coin is mostly bright white except for a bit of rim toning on both sides. The luster is quite strong for the issue but still is a bit hazy looking when not under a bright light. The coin is very well struck and has only a couple of noticeable marks keeping the coin from an even higher grade. Only sixteen (16) examples of the issue have been graded higher by PCGS; twelve (12) coins grading MS67, three (3) coins grading MS67+ and a lone MS68. For reference, MS67 examples are valued at $17,000 in the PCGS Price Guide! Here you have the opportunity to obtain a coin graded only one-half of a point lower for a fraction of the expense and for less than the PCGS Price Guide value of $3,250 for an MS66+. |
