1861 $20 Liberty Gold NGC AU55 |
SOLD |
|
The $20 Gold Double Eagle was the largest denomination of all regular issue United States gold coins. This 1861 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle has been graded AU55 by NGC and is in an older style NGC "fatty" holder which is slightly thicker than the current style of holders. An eye appealing example with lots of flash and a wonderful even bright gold color. Compare with others in the same or similar grades and you will quickly see the appeal of this piece. The coin is nearly uncirculated with maybe just a touch of rub in the highest points of Liberty’s hair. Cartwheel luster is present and quite strong on each side of the coin. An amazing and almost uncirculated Civil War date example of the Type One No Motto $20 Liberty Double Eagle. |
