This 1831 Small Letters Capped Bust Quarter has been graded XF40 by PCGS and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. It is an attractive lightly circulated example of the type with a pleasing look. The coin is mostly a light to medium grey color with toning near the rims on both sides. The toning is mostly a golden color but there are hints of light green and other colors too. As is typical for the grade, there are light marks and light scratches present on this piece, including a couple of light scratches on Liberty’s cheek and neck, but nothing too major or distracting. The coin still has a considerable amount of original mint luster present for the grade as well. A nice overall example of the Capped Bust Quarter for the grade. |
