With a total mintage of only 700, the 1875 Proof Trade Silver Dollar is a fairly rare coin. This example of the 1875 Proof Trade Dollar has been graded PR63 by PCGS. The coin is quite nice for the grade with wonderfully mirrored fields and no major hits, marks or spots except for a few small marks in the right obverse field. The fields on both sides of the coin have some light hairlines which likely help to account for the relatively low numerical grade, but such hairlines are not overly harsh. The obverse in particular is a bit hazy, much more so than the reverse of the coin, but when put under a decent light it becomes much less of an issue. I attempted to show this in my photos, but the included video does a much better job of showing how the coin will look in hand. The reverse of the coin also shows a fairly strong cameo contrast between the fields and the devices that is quite attractive. A decent example of a proof Trade Dollar.
Because of the difficulty in capturing the overall look of the coin in a single image, I have also included a short high-definition video of the coin towards the bottom of this listing in an attempt to give you a better idea of what this coin will look like in hand. Please note that you may need to adjust the video quality to 1080p and may need to increase the size of the video to full screen in order to see the coin in maximum detail.
