This 1917 Doubled Die Obverse Lincoln Cent has been graded G04 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The 1917 DDO Lincoln Cent is a popular doubled die variety which is listed in the Redbook and which has also been recently added to the Coin Dealer Newsletter, also known as the Greysheet. Despite the wear on the coin, the strong obverse doubling is still clearly evident, particularly on the date. The coin is a mostly even chocolate brown color with just a few areas of spotting. There are also some light scratches on the plastic holder which unfortunately show in the photos but are not on the coin. A low-grade certified example of this popular doubled die obverse early wheat cent. |
