The 1864 Large Motto Two Cent piece is a very popular type coin and a favorite of collectors building type sets. This example of the 1864 Large Motto Two Cent piece has been graded MS64BN by NGC and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. Although this coin was given the BN designation as a brown coin, the coin exhibits a great deal of original red color, particularly on the reverse. The overall eye appeal of this example is superior to many other examples that you will come across as this coin has wonderful color and is free of any major hits, spotting or marks. Just a couple of tiny marks seem to have kept the coin from the higher gem grade. The coin also shows really nice luster which isn't completely evident in the photos. Overall, this is an excellent example of the type for the collector who wishes to include a problem-free near-gem Two Cent piece in their collection.
